Hello there readers, and welcome to the brand new edition of the Doomsday column by yours truly Double B.

Communism is a great theory and it also is an excellent way of running a country.

India is a democratic country, our core base is democracy, we couldn't care less about communism and communist nations' way of working, since we are Democratic, its printed in Huge letters in our constitution, titled in bold and read as "INDIA IS A DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC".

Why do Hindus worship so many Gods?

A common question which often arises when a person is studying Hinduism is that... Why is it that the Hindus worship so many different Gods?

It is a popular quote in Hinduism that there are over 33,00,00,000 different Gods and Goddesses in the religion, so it is quite justified by one to think and question that why is it so? What is the need to worship so many Gods? and what does Hinduism say of this?

The belief in Hinduism, or to say, The one solid belief in Hinduism is that there is one omnipotent God, one God that has given birth to everything in this world, One God who exists and controls everything and is omnipotent (which means, present everywhere in the world) It is this one God who is on the top most level of everything and is the supreme power.

Book: Answers to Hinduism

Hinduism is a vast religion, and in this religion are many many mysteries and questions that keep coming to people interested in Hinduism from time to time, these questions need to be appropiately answered in order to understand Hinduism well.

Sometimes, due to misbeliefs and rumors, answers to some of these questions are given in the most negative and wrong ways possible, which is, truly very wrong and changes the conceptions for Hinduism in every person's mind. Such rumors harm the religion as a whole too. Therefore it is a need of time to provide a source where questions related to Hinduism could be answered, in the most appropiate, decent and extended way.

Sacred Space, Sacred Time

Sacred Space, Sacred Time

We all need space, we all need time to ourselves. In Exodus3:15- Word of God:When the Lord saw that Moses was coming closer, he called him from the middle of the bush and said:

"Moses, Moses", he answered, "Yes, here I am"God said, " Do not come any closer. Take off your sandals because you are standing on holy ground."

Indeed, one little corner, a fraction of time that you allow yourself can do wonders to your being, to get in touch with your inner self and give expression to your faith. A space that allows you to reflect onyour life, on your day, on what tomorrow may bring. A small place where you can shed a tear, or breathe a sigh of relief, quieten a troubled mind or savor a few victories.

Diwali and its importance

Diwali, also called Deepavali (Sanskrit: दीपावली, Tamil: தீபாவளி Kannada:ದೀಪಾವಳೀ Sinhala:ද්‍ර්‍පවාලි) is a major Hindu festival. Known as the "Festival of Lights," it symbolises the victory of good over evil, and lamps are lit as a sign of celebration and hope for mankind. The festival of Diwali is rooted in the mythological epic Ramayana, and is a celebration of the return of Lord Ram after killing Ravan the Demon during his exile for 14 years. The day of killing Ravan is celebrated as Dussehra (19 to 21 days before Diwali). Celebrations focus on lights and lamps, particularly traditional diyas (as illustrated). Fireworks are associated with the festival in many regions of India.

Meditation Sitting Tips

Meditation Support

Getting Comfortable for a Sitting Meditation

How to sit comfortably: One of the most important aspects of a sitting meditation is to be able to sit comfortably, without an aching back, or legs hurting or going to sleep. If you are in pain or great discomfort, the only thing you will be meditating on is that! Options for sitting are in a chair, or on a meditation bench, or on a pillow on the floor. Most westerners are not trained from birth to sit comfortably on a hard floor. So a chair is probably best for most of us, beginners or otherwise-and many very great meditators with many years experience use a chair or stool for their meditations. It is not a sign of lack of meditative ability if you are unable to sit in the lotus posture or any other floor sitting position.

The demise of Natwar Singh

Statuatory warning: The article below is purely a work of fiction.

Natwar Singh has died in his cabin of a heart attack while he was looking at his photo with his son and accidently flipped over a page that had another picture of his son, but this time it was of many years back when he was born, apparantely Natwar couldn't resist the shock of the tragedy which happened many a day back.

On this happy, erm, I mean sad demise of Natwar Singh our news channel caught up with the glimpses of a few famous people of India, lets see what our reporter had to talk with them. Firstly our reporter catched up with Manmohan Singh who was found sealed in the parliament basement, apparently he was crying, we decided to talk with him.
