Ego is an essential part of the human nature and it is natural. Every human being has a feeling of superiority; it can be a quality as well as a drawback subject to placement. If its a quality, then it must be included in the personality or else it must face a diminution, these double standards have given birth to different ideologies.

After a lot of thinking on this subject, I reached to a conclusion that this can be classified as a quality as well as a drawback; it depends upon its placement and usage by the human being. It is a need to give it a right place, if its there, its a quality or else a drawback.

For example, in chess, the Queen is powerful till it is in the right spot, if it reaches the wrong slot, its powers freeze and it isn’t capable of functioning even like a pawn. As a matter of fact, if the Pawn moves on the right slots, it may even be in a position to destroy the enemy.

The placement and usage of ego depends upon the person, time and situation and this doesn’t influence everyone. For example, the ego of a student is to achieve distinction in studies, A teacher’s ego lies in the proper knowledge of a subject, a scientist aims his ego on his research and a Doctor must consider the proper treatment of his patient as his ego, if Ego wanders from the main goal, it will attain a stage where it would be regarded as a drawback and the goal will become very difficult to achieve. For example, a footballer plays a match for his club with an aim to score the goal to win the Trophy, if his ego is hurt by the better performance of the opposition and makes the foul to create interruption in wrong way, then definitely the referee will show the yellow card and if he continues with the same attitude, then he will get the red card and will be out of play. In this case he had forgot the main aim, which should be the ego of play. The same thing has happened with man in life, in various ways.

When the same teacher, doctor, player or the scientist’s status is changed to the Head of the family, his ego will be the peace and harmony of the family, nothing else. When the same person, in evening, goes to play tennis, his Ego will be to attain perfection in the game and get a good performance, nothing else.

From the above examples, we can say that Ego changes itself according to the time, work and situations and the person who balances and controls the Ego well, moulds it as a medium of success in every field of life.
